This was a awesome display at the Mattel booth of the 1st Ghostbusters movie toys.
It has all the orginals with actor sculpt faces of all 4 cast members. Egon, Peter, Ray and Winston.

I would love to have these but man this display is just outstanding. Glad to have seen it!

I think they had a similar display at SDCC, but I can't be sure...either way, it's pretty darn cool to see a high quality pic of it, especially the details for Spook Central. I've been somewhat collecting Matty's GB stuff, with Winston as the last one I need to get to complete the guys in clean, full uniforms (minus the Ready to Believe You looks Peter, Ray, and Egon sported, the Marshmallow Mess Ray, and the slimed Peter and Egon variants) until Matty unleashes Dana/Zuul towards the end of the year (I think the Rookie from the video game is the next to be released). Would be awesome if Matty found a way to release Spook Central with Dana/Zuul but I imagine they'll either make it where it has to be connectable pieces or they're saving it for a bigger figure.

I wont doubt it being at SDCC, and yeah i thought they would have been in stores but i guess its a exclusive release to thier collector store. Good looking figures tho and spook central would be redesginedi think asit was a one off custom diarama from the looks of it but that would be cool with Zool and the 2 dogs in a Tower top and haveing a large scale Stay-Puff man to boot.
And i didnt know thier where variants of the figures like you said, thats cool.
I was thinkingof getting the videogame for the 360 since they looked less cartoony on the cover art.
Was the game anygood?

Yeah, I think if these were availible in stores they wouldn't cost as much (about 22 bucks on Mattycollector.com). I don't know if you knew this but there was a large scale Stay Puft released very recently. He's a big un' but the only problem is the material used to make him is turning yellow over time.

I only played the Wii version (the more cartoony one) but because the game was very similar across all systems, I thought it was a really great game, with an engaging story and smooth interface between the proton packs and moving the characters. Too short though for my liking, but it is in effect the closest thing to a third movie as any fan will get.

Yeah i saw they had Ray and Peter but they where on sale for $15, still alot but store price it seems with Hasbros new Legend scale series return on Marvel. And thats the bummer with white plastic, yellows or gets very weak.

Cool ill give it a try thenm looked cool to me and i thought they where goingin to pre production on Ghostbusters 3?

It's an urban legend at this point if GB3 will happen. Aykroyd confirmed a bit ago that Bill Murray won't do the movie but he's still optimistic that it will be made. However, if you ask any other fan about that they'll talk about it much more negative terms than me haha.

You could do better on ebay if you do decide to get into collecting the GB stuff. Some of the figures can be had for 10 bucks if you look right.

Well i hope it gets going even with out Bill...to bad tho hes being a .... about it.
Love to see them pass it on to some new guys as then its a grumpy oldmen meets second hand lions or something.

And good tip, might keep that in mind as i did find and replace my old Egon with Scream head and lift tie from The cartoon series on thier.

It'd be interesting to see them do a GB3 in cgi, like they were planning on but that idea turned into the video game. I think it works really well because that way you can animate the youth of the guys while sidestepping the problem of fans not responding well to a new group (remember talks that Judd Apatow was going to do the film and bring his usual cast into it?)

Thats one way to do it, a CG would allow them som room but i do like the live action over CG.
And i didnt know that on the game, ill have to get it to play it now.
DAMN YOU BILL MURREY!!!! Why you such a punk?
stillleast its not toally dead maybe a new cartoon series could be done.

Actually doing something with the toys! Dynamic posing, lighting effects, background, a story. Not just random pictures taken, or some horrible "comic" made by adding word balloons with crap writing to the half-assed pictures.

....what.....i do those too.....(sad face)
I do try to set up my other phtos with good intresting Lighting, Poseing and such. My comics i did i tried for something good (im not a skilled writer but i try).
Glad you liked how this one came togather, the diorama is rather cool i think...wish i had time and a place to make diaoramas for mine to play in.

Sorry, I just get tired of sifting through (literal) 50 to 100 "deviations" of some random toy somebody bought or found.

I joined Toy Time to see the customized and original creations, not 1000 unfunny comics.

I hear ya, most people seem to set thier figure on a book shelf and snap a out of foucs picture and post it.
I try to get something artistic out of them, Lighting is my thing as im a professonal stagehand with lighting. And my comics ive tried where not scripted but writen as i placed the pictures thier on the page; did you read them and if so what was your option on them...mind you im not a writer and thier is probily errors in grammer and spelling.
I like my toys to be a actor in my comic/photos and have them with a reason to be posted here other than 'Thier so cool' or 'Look what i have'. Some are lighting experments, some are angle plays, and others are setups i tried to get something from with a thought in mind of why i did it.
I hope my photos of toys fits with your idea of what they should be here, any suggestions are welcome if thier are any that dont or fit more so like this one...which isnt even my set up but i had to post this awesomeness and i love the photos of it i took.

Up until the annoncement of the 3rd movie that was true, it was Bill Murrey who was agesint the likeness toys from what i hear.
And these where released for viewing in April 2011 at Wonder Con in San Fan and thats how i got these sweet shots of it. Thier is another person who commented (above) with links to Matty Collector which has Ray and Peter for sale from this set.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for stopping by!

These look like the 6-inch figures. Nice as they are, I prefer the 12-inch figures -> :thumb285537644:

That "Spook Central" playset would be awesome, particularly with a nice exclusive Gozer and scale Stay Puft.

Yeah i think they are the 80s G.I.Joe scale but it was just great to see life like versions and such a cool display of them. I havent seen the 12" ones like this yet....are they like the old school GI Joe/Barbie?

They're about the same size, but with much more articulation and amazing attention to detail. Everything from the proto packs to the PKE Meter to the straps and belts and even the floor plans to "Spook Central" were painstakingly recreated in miniature form.

They're an amazing work of art, especially for Mattel. It's no wonder they demand so much money...

Yeah the cast models are probily expensive to make with the details, i have been seeing toys are looking shallow recently like McFarlane's toys whtich use to be amazingly detailed.
And the figures are amazinglt, plus the bigger they are the more you can fit on themof coolness.
I always wanted them, the Ecto-1 and the Firehouse....now i want it for photo fun.

Some lines are declining, others are on the rise. The new 14-inch Mumm-Ra from the Classic Thundercats line looks fantastic. Playmates' upcoming Ninja Turtle figures (based on the 80's cartoon) are a must-have...

Marvel seems stuck between 4-inch figures that hold no appeal to me based on their miniscule size and larger figures that demand $20+ each and all have some weird kind of surface detail that detracts from their overall presentation.

But if you're in the market for top quality super hero figures that boast articulation AND attention to detail, you can't do much better than these puppies:
