Well im back from Wonder Con 2011 in San Fran and boy was it fun!
Got to meet so many great artists and see some informative panels as well.
I had alot of fun with the people i went with, both are new to comics but have a youthful energy to comics and they got me in to doing panels as i was hanging in artist alley.
You might see them in some pictures from the event if i post pictures.
Now as for the Convetion, here are the awesome things i got to do.....
-Panels on FRIDAY.....Marvel: Breaking in to comics the Marvel way(Asked a question in it and got addressed by J.Loeb)
C.B. Cebulski, Jeph Loeb, Joe Quesada, Axel Alonso and Jason Aaron.
-Graphic Novels: The Long and Shortof it.
Hosted by Andrew Farago and panel of Seth, Andy Ristanio, Miriam Libicki, Eric Shanower and Hope Larsen.
And walked the floor as it was slow and easy walking around, meet and got sketch from the Legend Sergio Aragones, Very nice and funny guy.
Talked with Tone Rodriguez and Sean Galloway about my art Portfoilo, got some good tips from both and learned alot from them, THANKS GUYS!
Talked with and stuff with Mark Dos Santos(GAS Sketchbook sketch of Hellboy), Tony Fleecs, Tone Rodriguez(Portfoioo review of mine and friends, GAS Sketchbooksketch of Wolverine), Chris Moreno (Sketchbook sketch of new Dickhead Zombies and talked about the art i got offline of his), Sean 'Cheeks' Galloway (Portfoilo review, talked about his time with Hellboy Animated and Hellboy head sketch), Mike Royer (Winne the Pooh Sketch and talked anout his work).
-Panels for SATURDAY....Cowboys and Aliens movie teaser/ talked up with Jon Favreau (Looks like it might be the best movie of the year.....Filmed in Glorius 2D and shownin 2D as well i hope)
-Summit's Three Musketeers movie teaser and talk up with Logan Lerman and Luke Evans (Assians Creed i think on it)
-The Clone Wars: Secerts Revealed with the Voice of Asoka Tano, Peter Mayhew and Dave Faloni (Funny people, and very geeked out of Dave with the work he did with Peter for the Chewbaca in the series)
And meet on this day with Actor Ricard Kiel of Bond fame with Jaws and Happy Gilmore(Very nice man, and tall too), Talked and stuff with Laurie B!(Awesome sketchbook with a Harley in it, Thanks!), Georges Jeanty (Talked about Stage hand work, Oz on a Buffy sketch book), Ale' Garza (Batman sketch 2011 sketchbook, and talked to him about the signing in Las vegas in 2005), J. Scott Campbell (Signed DD ACE Edition), Art Adams (Pocket Sketchbook, had a baby he was taking care of), Travis Hanson (Dino sketch in pen), Eric Larsen (Funny guy, Did a Savage Dragon head sketch and talked about funny stuff), Peter Stigerwald (Hawaiian boy! did a amzing Penciled Fathom sketch as he took care of biz with the prints going over seas, talked with for quite some time as the show closed for the night).
-Panels for SUNDAY......Cover Story: The Art of the Cover with Mark Evanier hosting a panel of Adam Huges, Amy Reeder, Francis Manapul, Frank Quietly and Bill Sienkiewicz.
Talked and stuff with Lord Mesa (looked at awesome ksetchbook he did thier, got a Captian America sketch and talked about comics and art school, very nice guy), Len Wien (Meet all 3 days got a book signed day 2 and got a Batman sketch end day 3, funny story thier and it was the 3rd in a row), Dean Yeagle (Talked about school, animation and Kookie Crip cartoon, Sketch of Mandy), Oliver Nome (Sketched his fav of Sandman's Death, talked about 1st sketchbook i had he did), Phillp Tan (Signed 2006 sketchbook, and comics, got a batman head sketch as a quick one 1st in a row), Ryan Benjamin (Signed Grifter, Talked about Griter comics and his awesome tattoo on his arm and the 2nd batman head sketch in a row, quick too as he made time from his commission), Keith Tucker (Local guy from my home town in Hawaii, another funny story, sketchbook signed), Bob Layton (Signed comics and talked about Iron man and Valient as he he saw i had Joe St.Pierre's autograph on one he signed and said he was one of the coolest guys at valient).
And the best of the whole convetion besides Sergio was the amazing and awesome WILLIAM STOUT, he was awesome to meet, Talked about his showing at the Smithsonian and his time in Antarticia, talked about how clear the water is to dive in, the amazing Mount Erbuirs and the Dino bones he draws from. Got his new kids book 'A to Z of Dinos from the past 20 years'. And got a amzing sketch of a Antartic dino in it as well. Man that was awesome to meet a legend ive known since i was a wee little kid.
The event was awesome as you can tell and the amount of people dressed up was great, lots of great cos players, some i didnt know most i did tho. and the Troopers made sure they were seen and were a blast to take pictures with, go 501st of the Golden Gate Garrison area. Driveing did suck in the city, go figure right. I'd love to go agian and have even more fun!
